Heinrich spent his childhood as a pastor’s kid, growing up to follow in his parents’ footsteps, starting off as a teacher and is now a pastor himself. After pastoring congregations in Pretoria and Johannesburg, and serving as Regional Director of Shofar Gauteng, he is now pastoring Shofar Somerset West and serves on the National Apostolic Team as South African National Leader. Having experienced the highs and lows of ministry life for the last forty years, he is a firm believer that God has chosen the local church, to bring healing to this broken world. He also serves on the Kibwe Kids board of directors and lives to see the vulnerable children of the world safely nurtured in the house of God. Heinrich is married to Nikki and together they have three children.
After completing an internship year with Shofar, Hercules Opperman and his wife Melanie went on to support Shofar Franschhoek and later pastor Shofar Worcester. Together with his wife, and their three beautiful daughters he is passionate about seeing God’s word established and encouraging others to grow in their calling. After serving at the Shofar Support Centre for several years as general manager, the Opperman family emigrated to the UK where Hercules the Regional leader to the UK and Netherlands congregations, and pastors the Shofar London
Theuns has been part of Shofar Christian Church for 19 years. After practicing as a physiotherapist, Theuns planted Shofar Cape Town in 2006. Theuns currently serves on the National Apostolic Team and is the senior pastor of Shofar Cape Town. He has pursued various academic postgraduate studies, such as a BA Honours (Biblical Archaeology) and a Masters of Theology (Old Testament). He has completed his doctoral studies in the New Testament at the University of Stellenbosch. His field of interest is social conflict and the Gospel of Luke. Theuns is married, and he and Liezel has a beautiful baby boy.
Jan-Cor and his wife helped pastor the Namibian congregations for several years, and served as the Namibian regional leaders for 10 years before moving back to South Africa. He is married to Sandra, and in addition to being a fully fledged IronMan they have 4 children. Jan-Cor is the operations manager of the Support Centre as well as the General Manager of Shofar.
ANDRIES VAN DER MERWE
Andries (Senior pastor – Shofar Hermanus) and his wife Lize van der Merwe spent several years heading up Shofar London, after returning to South Africa in 2009 to pastor Shofar Stellenbosch. They are now leading the Shofar Hermanus congregation, together with their two beautiful daughters Danielle and Janine. Andries originally started his journey with us as an intern and went on to head up the Tartrek cycling mission around South Africa before leaving for London.
SIAS LE ROUX
Sias has been involved in student ministry at Shofar Stellenbosch for over twenty years and currently pastors Shofar Stellenbosch. He has a heart to raise up the future generations, to see God’s father heart revealed to all the nations. and has preached the Gospel in more than 35 countries. Sias is married to Louise and they have three children.
Anton and his wife Christelle pastored Shofar Standerton for several years before moving back to Stellenbosch with their five children. Anton is also assistant secretary for the African Cabinet of the global Empowered 21 movement and regularly attends E21 meetings in Africa and further abroad.
André Kruger has been involved in the planting of different churches and pastor of Shofar East London. He is is passionate about raising up leaders and equipping people to become what God has destined them to be. He is married to Sonika, and they have a son. André has also authored a book titled ‘Increasing Heaven’s flow’ which is available on our online store.
