Kim Gonneau Fund
Jean-Pierre and Kim Gonneau have been part of the Shofar East London family for more than 10 years. They faithfully serve as elders and leaders in various roles and ministries. Together with their daughters, Ava (6) and Ella (3), they love and are equally beloved by the local body of Christ.
In the beginning of 2018, at the age of 32, Kim was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. She followed the medically recognised treatment path of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy; as well as beginning to clean up her diet and place tighter restrictions on what she willingly allowed into her body, all through self-initiated research and implementation. After roughly 9 months of physically, emotionally and mentally devastating treatment and a further 3 months of recovery, Kim slowly began to build up her strength again, getting out and active and returning to be the fit and fun mother that her family knew and loved. Unfortunately, late in 2019, during a routine check-up, three new lumps were identified in her neck. Her cancer had returned.
Again, a conventional treatment plan was suggested. But with all due respect to the numerous medical professionals and their opinions, Kim’s extensive research into the effects of the food we eat, the water we drink, the products we use in our homes and on our skin, the general toxicity of the environments we live in and the damaging effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy on the body, she just could not go through it all again.
Armed with an ever-increasing depth of knowledge in alternative treatments and a resolve to eradicate this disease at its roots, Kim and Jean-Pierre have decided to attack the cancer using entirely natural God-given remedies, all the while standing on the unshakeable faith in our God who still heals and has created our bodies with the ability to heal themselves if aided correctly.
Backed by the support, guidance and observation of specialist physicians, Kim is following a treatment protocol that, to name a few, includes an all-natural, raw, organic plant-based diet; specific cancer-fighting natural supplements; weekly high-dosage intravenous vitamin infusions; colonics; ozone therapy and essential oil therapies.
Recent blood tests have shown an improvement in Kim’s overall health, and certain markers that indicate chronic disease have come down to within a healthy range. There is still a long road ahead, but the family trust that God has begun a healing process in Kim’s body and that they will see the day when she is fully restored.
Naturally, their medical aid does not recognise or pay for most of these alternative treatments, which places a tremendous financial strain on this young family (approximately R20,000 per month). If you feel led to support them financially in any capacity, be it once-off or monthly, this will go a long way in alleviating the pressure being placed on them at this time.
Thank you for partnering with us and them in prayer and support.
