THE BIGGER PICTURE
THE SOUND OF THE HARVEST
“And having seen the crowds He was moved with compassion for them, for they were wearied and cast away, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:36)
God has a heart for the lost. He hears their cries. Do we also hear them?
By aligning our hearts with God’s heart, our passion for Christ will propel us to others. We share a bond of the Spirit that is rooted in the cause of Christ to see the lost saved and discipled. That is why we are together and that is why we are gathering at Convergence this year.
MORE THAN JUST AN EVENT
We believe that God’s message regarding The Sound of the Harvest moves beyond a once-off event such as Convergence. At Convergence we will gather together to receive from God His vision, His purpose and His heart. From there we will go back to our communities and pursue being true witnesses for Jesus as a way of life.
Convergence is held every two years so we can take the necessary time to truly put into practice what God is saying to us. Our Global Newsletter and future Short Courses are a good way to stay in touch with how God is leading us around the theme of The Sound of the Harvest.
God has been revealing His heart and vision regarding The Sound of the Harvest to us since last year. In November 2018 we experienced a powerful impartation of God’s heart for intercessory prayer when Suzette Hattingh visited us at the God Encounter event in Wellington. It was an event where we, together as a church, cried out to God in prayer for Him to impact our communities with the power of the Gospel. We ask that you prepare your hearts for Convergence beforehand by working through the material of Suzette Hattingh’s God Encounter by clicking here.
GLOBAL PRAYER AND FAST
Also join us this month as we consecrate ourselves before the Lord in prayer and fasting. Here are two short video clips where Pastor Heinrich Titus shares his heart around our Global Prayer and Fast. We are trusting God, as we prepare for Convergence through prayer, to once again open our ears to hear the sound of the lost around us. We believe more than ever before that God has called Shofar to be a prophetic voice to the nations.
“Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing sheaves with them.”
