I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut

“I know your deeds. See, I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut, for you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not renounced or denied My name.” Revelations 3:8

My work circumstances were very difficult and to put it in short I dreaded every morning going to work. Looking at Revelations 3:8 I thought a new job will present itself.

However, that was not the case; I first had to wait. During that time, I received multiple scriptures about waiting, and it was clear that I needed patience to grow.

I love how the amplified version speaks about patience in Galatians 5:22,23: patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting].

11 months later, I prayed with our pastor’s wife, and we experienced it is done.

I felt God saying: This is the open door. You need to initiate the conversation with HR.

Starting this conversation meant risking a lot, as I did not have any other job or backup plan. I also experienced a lot of resistance and negative feedback from people very close to me.

Although it was difficult, I knew I had to trust God and take this bold step.

Just before I went into the meeting, the Holy Spirit reminded me of Psalm 73:23.

‘Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You hold my right hand. You will guide me with your counsel and afterward receive me to honor and glory.’

No matter what the outcome of this meeting, I am with you and I will hold your right hand.

The result was unexpectedly good, and there was a lot of favour!

Sometimes our open door looks completely different from God’s open door. He might come from an unexpected side, but it’s always better than what we had in mind.

At the end I got a pay-out and within a few days I got a new job at a well-known company.

It was supernatural! What felt like impossible was possible with God.

So if there’s only one thing you take from this testimony it is to remember that God is faithful. God is dependable and He can be trusted. Always!
