We have been humbled by how God’s presence has touched lives at the Healing Centre. Songwriters have been inspired and refreshed at song-writing retreats, ladies have been restored at Awaken and men have camped, fellowshipped and heard life-changing testimonies at the Centre. The cross and the worship room remain key areas of encounter with Jesus. We have also learned to appreciate the value of a prepared space (in the natural and spiritually) in the eyes of the Lord. Furthermore, on a weekly basis, the youth of our valley get to behold the splendour of God’s creation while kicking a ball around on the multi-purpose field!
While this all takes place, we continue to develop the Healing Centre. Following phase 1, the focus shifted to renovating the inside of the building. This included fixing all existing water damage, re-panelling the inside downstairs, painting the downstairs area as well as a complete lighting overhaul.
Next, the library was created and now contains an impressive scope of Christian literature, modern furniture and, perhaps most importantly, a new wood-burning stove for cosy book-reads in the winter months. Also, the first 4 en-suite rooms have been renovated, giving a fresh, modern and inspired look and feel.
Further to this, a full-time operations manager has been appointed. We are blessed to have the skills of Caylin Jacobs on board, bringing with her valuable tourism and guest-house management experience. We are so excited for this journey God has us on and it is staggering to see His provision for the project (all work up until now has been done via donations). What a privilege to partner with the God of the universe!

Testimony: Healing after 21 Years of Epilepsy
At our last healing service in March 2024, a lady in our congregation (Vivien), shared the following testimony:
Vivien and her son, Henri, moved to Franschhoek about two years ago. Her son has had severe medical challenges since he was little, one of which has been epilepsy – for 21 years. He suffered multiple seizures each week. It was so serious that Henri could never be left alone. Vivien even had cameras installed in their home to be able to keep an eye on Henri while she was at work.
The first service Vivien and Henri visited Shofar Fhk, happened to be a healing service. They didn’t know it, but God had a divine appointment with them! Henri received prayer that morning but “felt” no change in his body at the service. In the car after the service, Vivien challenged Henri that they should believe he has been healed, and live that way.
It has been 2 years since that morning and Henri has not had another seizure! God healed Henri and not only that, Vivien removed all the cameras from their home and testified that the intense fear and worry she’s experienced when Henri is alone, is completely gone. God has transformed this whole family! Praise Jesus!
