looking back… Convergence 2015

by Phillip Boshoff (Shofar Pretoria)

Our annual Convergence Conference is a highlight on our calendar and this year was no exception as our church family gathered from across the globe at the ‘Walled City’ of Ratanga Junction for a time of worship, refreshing, fellowship and vision sharing. It was evident from the opening moments that, once again, the Lord’s presence would be a hallmark of our time together. I’m sure all in attendance would agree that He certainly has a beautiful way of visiting and speaking to us during Convergence.

Shofarband led us powerfully in worship and with speakers like Stephen Lungu, Rick Rusaw, Dr Corné Bekker, Louis Brittz and our very own Fred May investing into us, the conference centered around the theme of ‘God’s building’, with the key passage taken from Psalm 147.

“The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:2-3

It was so encouraging to be reminded that, as He has done throughout the ages, it is the Lord who builds His Church and that He is certain to continue to do so until Christ’s return.
Meeting just around the corner from the main sessions was the children’s conference, again led superbly by Trevor & Sharon Gething. It is phenomenal to see the way in which our children grow through the conference each year, with children testifying of the many special ways they encountered Jesus over the weekend.

Convergence has become an integral part of our movement as we gather together to hear what the Spirit says to us for the season ahead with many powerfully prophetic and directional words being shared over the weekend – ministry a mere summary would not do justice to.

I would strongly encourage every church member who wasn’t able to be at Convergence to get hold of the Convergence DVD pack and listen to the sessions (particularly Fred’s session), allowing God to stir unified faith in our hearts for the year ahead.

Join us next year from 29 September to 2 October for Convergence 2016!
